50th Anniversary of the first flight from Filton of Concorde

In the Easter break 6 students from across the Trust were selected to join HRH Princess Anne and other guests to a black tie dinner to celebrate the 50th Anniversray of the first flight from Filton of Concorde and its Legacy and to inspire the next generation of aerospace engineers.

The whole evening was fantastic from the opportunity to walk inside Concorde and talk to engineers and pilots that had worked on this amazing aeroplane; to the incredible English themed meal (including cucumber sandwich cake!); to talking to new engineers about the Apprenticeship Scheme.  We were all silenced and Concorde performed the first nose droop for many years.

The 6 students were 3 from Merchants Academy Caitlin Bateman, Ollie-May Woodland and Ana Rodrigues Costa and 3 from CGS Elle Radford, Martina Tancock and Emily Whitworth
